Bidrage med feedbackWe have ordered from this restaurant several times a month and have always been pleased with the food and service. Now that they have added the option for dine-in, we will definitely be taking advantage of that.
I have had multiple issues with my order being incorrectly charged at this restaurant. Today, they once again accused me of something I did not do, and when I requested to see the receipt, they refused and attempted to hide it. Eventually, they reluctantly gave it to me, but claimed it was a simple mistake. Despite leaving a tip as a courtesy, they seem to only want to take advantage of customers and refused to return the tip when I discovered the error. I will no longer be supporting this establishment. They may act friendly and polite, but it is all a facade. They even refused to give me the receipt until I caused a scene, and then tried to rush me out without addressing the issue.
I have been giving this restaurant a try for months now after reading so many positive reviews. The food, however, did not meet my expectations compared to other Indian restaurants I have visited in Toronto, UK, USA, and Dubai. I ordered the goat curry which had a very sweet taste instead of the sharp flavor I was expecting. There was very little meat, mainly bones. The Tandoori chicken did not taste authentic, more like it was baked in an oven and then seasoned. The Naan bread was large but not soft or fresh tasting. I was also surprised at how quickly the food was prepared, in less than 15 minutes. I'm not sure if I just caught them on a bad day or if the people writing reviews don't know what authentic Indian food should taste like. The city has plenty of excellent Indian restaurants that may require some travel, but it's worth it for better quality food. I can't currently recommend this place and am unsure if I will give it a second chance.
My beloved and I had an early dinner before I went to the theater. The restaurant was constantly busy with orders, but the dining area was clean and elegant and the staff was very attentive (good way!). We split onion bhajis... at first, then we split chicken corma and chicken Biriani with a naan bread and a paratha. Everything was made fresh and delicious and the portions were more than sufficient. We'll go back next time to a show in Scarborough.
Vindaloo is local to my parents ' house and so is a go to place when I visit Toronto. It is consistently good and tasty Indian food and I always enjoy dining here. Of note is that the serving sizes seem to have decreased since my...last visit, but it is still more than enough food. You won 't leave hungry!
