Taco John's - Monona

My previous review of TJs may not have been very positive. I won't dwell on any previous issues that may have bothered me. Tonight, as I revisited the restaurant...

The restaurant always forgets to include the sauce, leaving me with nothing to dip my fries in. Despite this issue, the food is good overall, but the lack of sauce is a major letdown for me.

I just had the most awful tacos ever. I don't know what happened, they used to be so good. These ones were gross, cold, and soggy. And to top it off, they don't even have the sauce bar anymore.

The staff at this restaurant is welcoming and the food is delicious. The prices are reasonable and the store has been nicely remodeled both inside and out.

I remember the first Taco Johns opening in my hometown in 1978, and it was much better than it is today. Despite the ups and downs of being a chain restaurant, they still offer more than just rice and sauces. Since moving to Madison, Taco Johns has been my go-to spot for a quick fix. While I have never had a bad order here, I must admit that the overall chain is not as good as it used to be. It's a shame because they were here before Taco Bell and used to be the best. Unfortunately, corporate greed and profit over quality have taken its toll on the restaurant.
