Bidrage med feedbackAbsolutely shocked and disgusted after buying takeaway from On Bong as our regular Chinese was closed. Ordered from the 'vegetarian ' menu the vegetables with cashew nut, only to find a piece of beef in it. Called to complain and I was shouted at by the lady on the till who we 'd ordered with, who told me I was lying and that she didn 't care. As she didn 't believe me and was being so unbelievably rude, we drove back to the takeaway with the dish and the piece of beef, only to be shouted at again. We asked to speak to the chef instead and she told us that if we went to the pub after complaining he would chop our fingers off . Eventually, after being berated for initially reporting it as pork instead of beef (irrelevant, as neither meat is vegetarian! and for being difficult customers, she reluctantly refunded the £4.90. (No chance of a full refund for the £20 we spent! . Absolutely appalled this take away has no understanding of 'vegetarianism ' or 'cross contamination ' and by their own admission do not care. Easily the worst customer service me and my partner have ever encountered. Please do not eat here. (Multiple other reviews also warn of the aggressive/ 'mad ' lady!
This Chinese takeaway is excellent. The staff are consistently friendly, orders are taken quickly over the phone, and they always let you know how long it will be before your food is ready. The food is freshly cooked and hot when you pick it up. It's delicious and there's plenty of it, making it a great value. I especially enjoy the chef's specials, like The Four Seasons. We no longer need to go into Exeter for a good Chinese meal.
We always order the crispy aromatic duck at Happy Garden, but unfortunately, they seem to not understand what "crispy" means. It shouldn't be soggy and oily with no flavor. Despite not being a cheap appetizer, they have consistently gotten it wrong recently. We thought it might have been a one-time mistake, but after three tries, it's clear that they consistently miss the mark.
Happy Garden has unfortunately failed to satisfy many of its customers. On a recent visit, we ordered food to go and returned home to find it was missing many items. After contacting the restaurant, we were offered either a refund or the option to go back and collect the missing items. This was disappointing, especially considering we had spent £50 on food for a birthday celebration. To make matters worse, this was not the first time this had happened in the past month. Getting a refund does little to make up for a ruined evening meal. Overall, our experience was a complete disaster.
I was eating my Chinese when something crunched in my mouth, it was like grit, found what looked like glass!!!! Called and they said I could have a free meal but I wanted a refund, drove back up and the person who I think was in charge tried to say it was the plastic from the container, sorry but plastic does not crunch like grit in your mouth, he wasn't even gonna refund me for everything until I demanded, and tried to get out of it and never apologised, I will never eat here again
