Gidleigh Park - Chagford

A late Christmas and birthday gift that was definitely worth the wait. The restaurant is situated in a fantastic location, complete with whimsical directional signs, as it can be a bit tricky to locate if you're not coming from Chagford. The staff struck a perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness. We opted for the summer special, a five-course lunch accompanied by a glass of champagne, and I couldn't find a single flaw in any of the dishes. Each plate was beautifully presented and offered a delightful range of flavors. Well done! I hope they offer a winter lunch as well.

Just the most exceptional food it's been my privilege to taste! Exquisite flavours in the most sublime dishes. I cannot rate Chef Michael Wignall and his brigade highly enough. Service was first class too from start to finish attention to detail was incredible. Our bedroom was beautifully furnished and a tray of tea delivered first thing this morning was most welcomed for a short while I felt like the Lady of the Manor! Can't wait to repeat the experience later in the year. Thank you for the memories!

I am sure this beautiful place does not need reviews but very happy to say how amazing an experience our lunch was. From the moment the maitre'd Alex opened the door to the moment we left the wonderful gardens to leave we were so well looked after. The 7 course lunch was ridiculously good with fabulous flavours and our waiter Ricardo was excellent. Just one of the best dining experiences so if you get the chance please go. Highly recommended.

The hotel boasts a beautifully designed Arts and Crafts original style, featuring exquisite period antiques that are tastefully arranged. It's slightly off the beaten path, but the lovely grounds and cozy country house atmosphere more than make up for it. The staff is attentive and dedicated to providing a great experience. The Michelin star restaurant is quite upscale, offering extraordinary dishes for those who appreciate fine dining. Food enthusiasts will be thoroughly impressed. However, keep in mind that the standard menu takes about three hours to complete, so plan your dinner booking accordingly, especially if you're bringing children along. I also recommend enjoying a round of mini golf or trying your hand at croquet!

I had an amazing experience at the restaurant! The staff were incredibly friendly and professional. The food was exceptional, and we had a great time overall. My only suggestion would be to provide a bottle of water in the bedroom. After enjoying 10 courses, I would have struggled to find the exit, let alone the 'pantry'! Thank you!
