Bidrage med feedbackRequires better maintenance (patio door and screen does not close well) and a remote in the room to contrôle the air conditionner (clerk said they only have one remote for all the rooms in the hotel, which is obsurd). Clean and improve shore as it is ugly and dirty so is not very inviting.
Great hotel stay Cleaning staff went above and beyond, even placing my own weighted blanket on the bed and arranging my kid's stuffies. The breakfast is below mediocre, but the drinks are good, the firepits along the beach are a dream, and we will be back!! Also note that the gym equipment is lacking if you weight train it isn't sufficient.Noteworthy details: Fireside fire pits
As a one night stop on a long road trip, this hotel provided good, comfortable accommodation at a very reasonable price. Under the same circumstances, we would gladly stay there again. Located on the banks of the majestic St. Lawrence river it provides excellent opportunities for outdoor dining and socializing, weather permitting of course. Apart from that, however, the location is not conducive to walking as it is surrounded by heavily traveled roads and highways
Listen, this is a nice enough hotel with decent amenities...but in the end, there is nothing that really stood out to make this a destination visit. There are many families here, so the noise level is higher than many other places we 've stayed. We could here kids screaming in the rooms next to us, and their parents screaming back. The small pool was always filled with families as well, which made just relaxing in the water impossible. They also would not allow us into the 2nd outdoor pool due to a lack of lifeguard...strangely enough, there was no lifeguard at the indoor pool, so I 'm pretty sure that was just an excuse. The restaurant was closed until 5:00 PM, and while on vacation, a few pitchers of sangria while sitting on a terrasse is a pretty common thing to expect. Once they finally opened and started serving us, the food was basically average. It was good, but not great. There isn 't much to do in the town or Matane, so in the future, I would use this hotel as a 1-night stopover to break up the 10+ hour drive from Montreal to Gaspe Perce. So, in the end, I can 't say anything too bad or too good about this place...I 've been to worse hotels, and I 've had worse food and worse service before. If you are going for family fun, you 'll probably have a better time than if you go expecting peace, quiet, relaxation and day-drinking.
I stayed at this literal beachside hotel for one night while on a motorcycle trip to the Gaspe Peninsula. I booked this hotel with only a days notice. I was looking for something cheaper, but I wasn't able to and there weren't a lot of options. I'm glad I stayed here. I opened the window to my room that was on the waterside and fell asleep to the sounds of the ocean. That was nice. The rooms are a little on the small side. I think mine had a queen-size bed, but if you're staying here you only want to be in your room to sleep. The beach is right outside the hotel and the have chairs out and an outdoor fireplace. Cargo, the hotel's restaurant, has an all-glass front with some outdoor tables and the I thought the food was as good a the view. The hotel was quiet. The only nit I would pick was the bathroom was small. I can't imagine a better place to stay in the area.
