Brasserie Pub 21 - Matane

Unfortunately, despite being located by the ocean in the mall, the restaurant lacked a view and had unattractive decor with old chairs and tables. I ordered the house specialty and was very disappointed with the taste. There was nothing outstanding to mention. In the end, the meal was very expensive for the quality provided. It's surprising to hear that someone recommended this place.

My wife and I dined at Brasserie Pub 21 on July 6, 2014. We were searching for an affordable restaurant with good food. I ordered the "a volante" cod, which is an all-you-can-eat dish available on Saturdays. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of filling up on fries before trying the cod, which was cooked perfectly with a light breading that I preferred over a heavy batter. My wife enjoyed her well-cooked and tasty steak. The prices were reasonable, although not cheap. The standout feature of our experience was the excellent service. Our server was friendly and accommodating, especially helpful in guiding my wife through the menu due to her allergies. The restaurant itself had a drab and dated interior, located in a mall which dampened the ambiance slightly. If you find yourself in Matane and craving some cod, Brasserie Pub 21 is a decent option to consider.

If you are looking for greasy food and below-average service, this is the place for you. The beer is good, but that's about the only positive thing. Don't waste your time here unless you are a trucker.
