Cancun Mexican Grill - Hays

We eat here a lot during the summer. Love their margaritas. They have a ton of vegetarian options, and a few of them can be made vegan. They also have a salsa bar (pre-COVID)! I usually get the vegetable chimichanga no cheese/sour cream and it’s delicious with the red sauce from the salsa bar!

My husband and I stayed in Ellis and were happy to find vegan food nearby. This place has FRESH food and fast, quality service. We split a veggie fajita and guacamole with extra rice and refried beans as a side. (Yes they are made without lard, order without cheese if you want it vegan. There seemed to be several other veg options on the menu.

The food was delicious! I would come back if we were going through. there is a sign outside the restaurants that they feel as if they are just out of a cruise ship in cancun! I would have given 5 stars, but there were flying and I hate flying! I know there's not much you can do about it, but I don't want to feel like a hospitable in the flying house.

Condiment bar is superb. Grilled onion seasoned perfectly is so sweet and good. Seasoned, sliced grilled jalapeños are fantastic! A wide array of sauces to sample both green and red. Fish tacos comes with a good amount of fish in flour tortillas. Two fish tacos, pico de gallo, cheese dip, rice and beans come with the meal for $10.99. Ice flavor. Beans were a little runny. Great, flavorful salsa. The avocado sauce on the condiment bar is hot. It looks like runny guacamole but don't let the cool color fool you. Yum!

I felt rushed looking over the menu. Then, I just was not happy with my meal. Chicken tasted like tuna, hamburger's texture still remains with me, and the shrimp was chewy... with veins. The first time we ate there we were very pleased, but I don't want to go back.
