The Wandering Greek Oven - Castlegar

They were very gracious when we arrived 15 minutes before closing - didn't feel rushed or unwelcome at all Which was awesome, because: oh my god.

Very nice selection of Greek items Shared their Greek Pizza with spinach among the 4 of us. Nice thin crust Very tasty.

Had calamari and roasted lamb Calamari was decent could have been seasoned a bit more but was tender not rubbery.

We tried out a few of the higher rated restaurants in castlegar with our two kids (3 & 5). This was a wonderful change from the ordinary burger and bad salad. The other two places in town were mediocre at best.The kids shared the kids' lasagna with fries (huge portion for kids). Parents shared the alfredo chicken pizza. Soooo delicious we packed it up for dinner.Best of all was the house made humous. Garlicky delicious.

Whether it is a hamburger at noon or anything on the evening menu, this is the place to eat in Castlegar. Take the time and drive past the fast food joints to the older downtown. My favourites are the roasted lamb or any pizza, but my husband does the lasagna. Walk part of the Sculpture Walk, stop and partake of the best food in Castlegar, then exercise of the calories as you finish the walk and vote for your favourite sculpture.
