Bidrage med feedbackIn the middle of a long night at Carson-Tahoe Regional Hospital, we were excited to see the Starbucks there is open 24 hours. But we were even more delighted to meet a very uplifting, cheery, caring barista behind the counter! Des (short for Destiny) is just the type of person you want to talk to in the middle of the night in a sad and scary circumstance. She treated us and the other customers so kindly. Kudos to Starbucks for hiring this gem! (Colleen Janes and George Vick)
Really fast service, even though there were 5 people ahead of me. Got my usual, cheese Danish, panini, and strawberry acai refresher for my lady, and she was very content with the meal.
In the lobby Carson Memorial Hospital where I spent Christmas Day Afternoon and night. Got diagnosed with diverticulitis.I got a Chai tea latte to wake me up from the Valium they gave me..
Full Starbucks inside the hospital and open 24 hours.
It's been a while since I've done a lot of reviews, so I apologize for that. Today, Friday, March 17, 2019, I went to the 24/7 Starbucks located inside the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center on Medical Parkway in Carson City. Carson City does not have a lot of 24 hour business, other than casinos, so it was a pleasure trying this out. Also, a lot of people do not know this Starbucks exists, judging from the lack of Yelp reviews. They are a full service Starbucks with free wifi (the hospital's . They are open to the public, but also get a lot of hospital staff. They are about equidistant from the main hospital entrance by the gift shop and the Mallory Emergency Department entrance. I went there about 3 PM. There were three employees on duty and one other customer. I ordered something from the secret menu! Yes there is a Starbucks secret menu. The young employee at the register admitted she had never heard of one. But the manager said yes they will make it as I long as I have the recipe and they have the ingredients. Anyway, I ordered a venti (20 oz. S'mores Hot Chocolate after I confirmed the price, which was $4.15. I didn't want caffeine so late in the day, so that is why I chose what I chose. I have read different listings on the web of how it is supposed to be made, but I showed the manager my phone, which said, in addition to the hot chocolate: 1 pump of cinnamon syrup 1 pump of toffee nut syrup Blend and top with cream, chocolate sauce, biscuit bits, and marshmallows She told me they served theirs with a crushed graham cracker topping (instead of the chocolate sauce and biscuit bits ; and I think she also said something like they use real chocolate or vanilla sauce or syrup? She made it sound like a bonus, so I trusted her. I didn't see any marshmallows, but maybe they were blended with the whipped cream? She also wasn't aware you could get this in hot chocolate instead of frappuccino. I paid via the Starbucks app. I had two gift cards loaded onto that. I had one with a $0.10 balance from 2012 or 2013, lol; and another $5 one that I had just won at the 21st Annual Senior Celebration Event at Casino Fandango the previous day. They had a scanner for customers right there, and everything went smoothly. Now I have $0.95 left on my card. (The only thing funnier than this is I have a $1.03 eBay credit from when I sold on there from 2005 or so! It's still there after 14 years--I get a statement from them each month, haha. The receipt the employee printed for me was kind of vague, not showing what was paid from which card, and what my current balance was, so I went up and asked. I think she threw away the original receipt and gave me a different one, but I know they got it right from what they described. I am happy there is no sales tax charged on hot chocolate in Nevada! My order was done in less than a minute by the third employee who was told how to make it by the manager. Very fast! The manager was excited about my secret menu item and wanted me to come back and tell them how it was. I went and sat down. They have their own small seating area, but there are a lot more plush hospital chairs and sofas too next to them. They also use the locked cabinets outside the restaurant itself as storage, for things like soy milk. They served my drink in a to-go cup. I don't think they have regular cups. I am not sure if any Starbucks do actually, since I rarely go to them. So I opened the top and saw the beauty (see my pic . They taste was, well, like hot chocolate, haha. A little too syrupy for my taste, but that is how it is made. I am not going to complain since I chose that item from the secret menu. I was very happy with my experience there, and am glad this exists in the hospital. They must be doing well if they are open 24 hours and had three employees there. I am also shocked, now that I think of it, that I paid $4.15 for basically a glorified hot chocolate with crushed graham crackers sprinkled on top, lol; but I knew the price in ad
