Mel's Dinor Restaurant - York

Good quality and value breakfast but it is so busy on a Saturday morning, the service suffered. Waited for a table, then another minutes at the table before we got coffee and menus, another minutes till breakfast came and it was not longer...very hot. It was still good, and we were hungry so ate it anyway. Coffee top up only came when we waved them down for our bill. We will go back as food was good, but too stressful having to get servers attention for every thing. We felt bad for her trying to keep up with everyones needs.

Mel's Dinor does not pretend it's something it isn't. Great breakfast and lunch without having to style one's hair and put make-up on. Great down to earth food, laid back diner, and really friendly service.

There aren't many left, but this is certainly a greasy spoon Go quite often for breakfast. Peameal eggs good portion, eggs all cooked perfectly (no runny egg whites). Great coffee and they keep your cup filled.

Very reasonable and large portions. Great for hungry boys and men!! My husband often goes there before his work!!

On the recommendation of a friend I tried the western omlette. It was honestly so delicious! Sorry, no picture! Ate too fast
