El Mexico Cafe - Wichita

We absolutely love El Mexico Cafe and give it five stars! We eat here at least once a week and enjoy it every time. It's perfect for casual lunch meetings, but our favorite is bringing home a big bag of food and guacamole every Tuesday night. The ultimate fajitas are delicious, as are the salsa and tacos. We've never had a bad meal here, and the team at El Mexico Cafe always provides excellent service.

The food at this restaurant is terrible and the cook is not skilled. The dishes are dirty, the floor is filthy, and the bathroom is disgusting. I have never had food this bad before - even food trucks are better. The cook lives in the parking lot and does not practice good hygiene. Stay away from this place if you don't want to get sick.

I haven't been here in a long time! Had a delicious and affordable lunch with friends. The Huevos Rancheros, guacamole, chips, and salsa were all tasty. The service was friendly and attentive. The bathrooms were clean and the tables were well spaced out. Overall, a thumbs up!

Haven't been in well over a decade. Won't be back. The service was the only thing that was good. The menus felt gross. Like they were covered in grease or wiped down with a dirty rag. The yellow queso that was supposed to be the mild was spicy but also hada very unpleasant grainy texture. The chips had no flavor at all. My husband's fried tacos dripped grease forever. We expectedsome grease dripping, but this was way beyond. His rice was nasty. I got upset with him for asking me to try it knowing how badit was. My taco salad, I had asked for extra sour cream which was a HUGE mistake. Usually there just a tiny dab but under thethin layer of beef on top, there was probably a third cup of sour cream or more. Once I stirred, everything turned white and waswell coated. I tried to eat it but I couldn't. There was maybe an ounce to an ounce and a half of beef total in that taco salad.Again a very thin layer on top was hiding everything inside. There was something off in it besides all the sour cream. Justwasn't right.

Edit: many improvements over the last few years and I am a huge fan of this place now. I had to review this place again after 7 years. It's awesome again, very tasty and wonderful. The service wasn't good and employees were bickering and fighting withone another which was very annoying. But at least the food is good again. New review. Very rude service by the same womanthat I was complaining about in the paragraph above. She really shouldn't work in customer service because she is horrible. And my girlfriend and I come here about every other week for all you can eat tacos and always take a taco home if we can'tfinish. She was very rudee about it and all of the sudden we weren't allowed to take tacos home. Watch out for the blonde thatworks there and thinks that's she's to good for the place.
