Algonquin Lunch Bar -  Whitney,

First off, yes I have dined at other places in town and have found them ok. Now this place. First off we noticed several locals here which is a sure sign of good prices and food. Second, the food was awesome. I had roast beef and it was so tender with flavorful gravy. My wife had the turkey diner which she enjoyed as much as I enjoyed mine. If I remember right I think it was $15-17 each but well worth it. We will stop here again.

Motorcycle trip through the park, was surprised that the other places were closed on a really nice Friday, so stopped here and decided time to eat, was surprised at the size of the place, ordered a burger and consider myself a connoisseur of a good burger I was ready for anything. I was greatly surprised it was really a good burger. Service was excellent and courteous, food was done quickly without sacrificing quality. This is now going to become my stopping place. Really liked the stools at the counter.

Stopped off here for lunch while on our way to Algonquin Park. Very good diner food and prices were reasonable as well. They usually have specials as well. Recommend if you are passing through or staying in Whitney.

Stopped in for a quick bite during a snowmobile trip.It is an old style restaurant with extremely friendly service. My server was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was very good - had a basic burger with fries. The coffee was very good and the cup was bottomless.It is just a very nice, quaint, friendly place with good food.

We were looking for breakfast at 8am on a week day morning and having found another restaurant closed, we were very happy to stumble across this place. It’s truly a lunch counter type establishment with a great breakfast menu. The waitress was friendly, prompt and helpful. I had the pancakes with bacon and my wife had the light breakfast (1 egg, toast, bacon, home fries). The home fries were handmade and lightly grilled – real home cooking. We enjoyed our meal and would definitely check out their lunch menu.
