Toucan Cafe - West Somerset

My fiancé Paul and myself had a very enjoyable lunch in Toucan, as part of our day trip to Minehead. Paul, a staunch meat eater, opted for the 3 bean chilli with sweet potato fries with cheese plus caramel latte. Myself, a long time vegetarian, opted for the lentil soup with sausage with caramelised onion sandwich plus breakfast tea. Food and drinks both arrived promptly after friendly and relaxed service. Temperature of food and presentation were both lovely. I think it’s also worth mentioning that self-service chilled water is available free if so desired. We both thoroughly enjoyed our Toucan lunch today. Paul had to finish my sandwich as I was so full! Toilets up slightly steep staircase but were spacious and clean with plenty of toilet paper, soap and hot water. I also liked the fact that we were given a loyalty card for hot drinks as it all adds up. Price wise, I’d say middle of the road but fair when you consider the portion size and food quality. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today in Toucans. We will certainly return!

Amazing food, salads, quiches and curries with so many flavours and very generous servings, friendly staff, a relaxed atmosphere and nice touches, such as a tray of delicious toppings for your salads and a water cooler. Will definitely have lunch here again.

Quirky but expansive venue above a shop. The variety of meat free dishes is wide, the portions are extraordinarily generous. But most of all, the food is absolutely delicious. The quiches are wonderful.

The food at Toucan is always excellent. There is nowhere better in Minehead for delicious healthy food, which is why I am a regular customer. However, just recently they have taken to playing music with a pounding beat and a little bit too loudly, which rather takes the pleasure out of sitting there trying to enjoy a chilled out break. Given that the cafe is part of a wholefood shop and a therapy centre promoting calmness and wellbeing, i find the choice of music at odds with the overall 'vibe ' of the place. certainly it did nothing to help me enjoy my coffee this morning and the persistent banging beat had me leaving as quickly as possible.

Visited Minehead specifically to have a meal in Toucans. What a excellent meal, such good quality and a reinstatement of the condiment tray. Good portions all home made and friendly staff. can't wait to return. Highly recommended
