Bidrage med feedbackRecent drove past this pub and it looked worth a visit so walked down to it today from Drewsteignton and so pleased we did. Fantastic pub, lovely fire, great beer/cider and really friendly barman and locals, what's not to like. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area but please note they don't open til 4pm. Also a massive thanks to the owners for saving this amazing pub xx
Please update your website!!!! Still no food, even without a working kitchen I’m sure they could provide charcuterie or cheese boards, I can only imagine that the locals keep this place open, I do applaud the owners for keeping the place running but I think they could try harder, but times are tough.
We have driven past this Dartmoor gem on many, many occasions but had never stopped here because it was always closed when we come past. It doesn't open until 4 pm. This time we were at the right time and were glad we did stop. The interior is traditional moor style and has not been given a trendy makeover unsuitable for the venue as so many other pubs have been. The bar staff were very friendly as was the group of locals and we were directed to the rear beer garden which is delightfully wild, though a little steep for those who might not be as able as they once were. Most importantly we sampled a pint of very well-kept and cool Teignworthy Neap-tide bitter. The price was also a very welcome surprise. Now we know what to expect we will try and keep the Sandy Park on our list of regular haunts when we are next in their neck of the woods. Well done. They do not serve food at the moment .
Having driven past many times, this visit coupled up with a gorgeous walk along the Teign Valley, The beer is excellent, most courteous and friendly barman, as were the locals SUCH beautiful wooden furniture in the bar and open fire, provides a relaxed welcoming atmosphere we wish this was OUR local, a REAL pub. THANKYOU
Amazing little find. Staying near Chagford on holiday and stopped off for a pint or two early doors. Sat in the garden, Described as wild by the lady working behind the bar but it was absolutely idyllic. The beer was cracking too. Made to feel welcome and in these strange times, safe.
