El Toro Taqueria - Waynesboro

I always judge a Mexican restaurant first on its guac and this is some of the best around, fresh, bright, chunky. We split El Jefe and it was more than enough for two. The steak needed a little more seasoning but the rest was outstanding. We went early on Saturday, about 6:30, and when we left there was a line out the door.

Quick and friendly service. Quality of food is very good. Easy payment through app makes checking out quick.

El Toro on Liberty is a decent Mexican restaurant with all of the staples and a full range of margaritas. I had the 27 oz upgraded margarita. I really dislike writing negative reviews, but my experience tonight was quite disappointing. We waited nearly 10 minutes without anyone greeting us. Once we finally got seated, we ordered drinks, which were good. Both of us chose the arroz loco, but I specifically asked for mine without shrimp. Half an hour later, his dish arrived cold, and I was then told that mine had shrimp in it, so it was being remade. We sent his back, and when my dish finally arrived, it was also cold. His replacement plate came, and once again, it was cold! At that point, we had had enough. We left a tip for our server for their patience, but we didn't pay for the meal.
