Camino Real Mexican - Waynesboro

Quick service, delicious food, and ice-cold beer! I dined in for lunch, and my total was around $10–20. The food gets a solid 5 stars, and the service is also top-notch at 5 stars. The atmosphere is enjoyable, rated at 4 stars. I highly recommend the chips and salsa!

On October 2, 2023, I went for lunch with three friends, and our experience was less than pleasant. While we were looking at the menu, we noticed flies buzzing around, and then, to our horror, a large German cockroach crawled across our table. The waitress brought us a small basket of chips and two cheese dips, but it wasn't long before we ran out and had to ask for more. We were charged $2.50 for another tiny basket of chips. The total bill came to over $59 before tip, which I really regretted giving. In hindsight, I should have left when I saw the roach, but I didn't want to cause a scene in front of my friends. Overall, it was a nightmare experience in this small town, and I definitely won't be returning.

The restaurant is housed in a charming historic building, or at least it gives that impression. I really enjoyed the beautifully landscaped courtyard at the back entrance. The food was delicious, and we had no trouble finding the restaurant after leaving the bypass during our travels. I would definitely consider stopping by again.
