Evangelo's - Wasilla

I've been a fan of Evangalos for years, but my last visit was the worst experience I've ever had. The 8oz steak was more like 3 ounces of meat with 1 ounce of fat. The portions were significantly smaller, and now you have to pay extra for everything else on the plate—$4 just for potatoes! I won't be returning.

The food is excellent. However, the seat cushions in the booths near the kitchen could use some refurbishment. A good friend of mine sat in one of those booths and found the cushions to be quite worn out. They definitely need to be replaced with newer, more comfortable cushions. I ordered coffee, and it tasted rather cheap. Overall, it’s a fantastic restaurant and one of the best in the area.

This used to be my girlfriend and my favorite restaurant. The food was great and reasonably priced. However, a couple of months ago, they increased the prices across almost the entire menu by 30-50%. They're now pricing themselves similarly to some of the more upscale restaurants in Anchorage, but the quality of the food doesn’t match. They’ve even condensed their menu down to just one page. I know there’s been a change in ownership, but the new owner has significantly raised the prices without introducing anything new. Having previously worked in the food industry, I understand that restaurant margins can be tight, but this situation doesn’t warrant such a price hike. Overall, it's become quite disappointing given the high costs.

Don't do it! cannot recommend this restaurant. Waited over 1 and a half hours for simple spaghetti dinners. Doesnt come with salad or bread, breadsticks are $12. Draft beer was broken, not available. Waiting and waiting, had to ask whats taking so long. Finally get our food and its barely warm, almost cold. Spaghetti. Wasted 2 hours at this place and left hungry because couldn't eat cold spaghetti didn't want to be there 1 minute longer. Should've went to Sonic down the road.

Food was great. Good atmosphere even with the changes. The service.... at least the last time we were there... sub par. Wife orders a salad, didn't get. Meals came with bread....didn't get. It wasn't a particular bussy day but the waiter we had seemed like we were in important. Lucky the little lady doing the water made us feel welcomed and was the best part of the staff.Parking: The front parking is small and well tight
