Oca Nera Restaurant - Vaughan

Went to Oca Nera tonight and I had the best meal ever. And I've had a lot of great meals here. Wally always takes such good care of me. My son joined me tonight. Just by chance softshell crab are in season. We shared an appetizer of soft shelled crab on an egg bun with a wonderful slaw. I will go back again before the season is over to have some more. It was a very generous portion and more than enough for us to share. My son had a great risotto with lobster and scallops and truffles. Perfectly cooked and so delicious. I had a great Gnocchi with a wild boar ragout. The gnocchi was perfect in taste and texture and the ragout was so good. A chocolate jelly roll with cream filling for dessert was the perfect ending. It was great to see Jackamo again. He is always so welcoming. Unfortunately we missed Corrado tonight. Thanks again Wally for a great evening.

The food in this restaurant is wonderful and different to the usual italian food. The Wild Boar gnocchi was brilliant. The service was great and the staff friendly and helpful but unobtrusive.

We attended for my wife's 70 th Birthday. I researched the restaurant on line as I wanted to make it a memorable experience. We live some distance away and we reserved a room in the area. In a word if the high was a 5 in our estimation it was a 10! From the time we walked in until we left some two and half hours later the experience was amazing. The food the service the ambiance was perfect. On the subject of the food it was out of this world with generous portions beautiful presentation cooked to perfection. We were even given a complimentary liquor and desert to celebrate my wife's 70. One of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had. We will be back!

If you like great food and service this is the place. Oysters are amazing ! Service was great. All dishes are very good keep going back trying different dishes and you won't be disappointed. Thanks

This quaint restaurant, tucked into a small strip mall behind a gas station, surpassed my expectations. The food was outstanding as was the service. We were out celebrating a special birthday with family and the staff went out of their way to make the evening very memorable.
