Bidrage med feedbackGood was good and people are great. challenge was that there was no grill place available....at a bbq restaurant. I wish I had tried to eat her with bbq. check them before they order.
Used absolutely love this place! Wife brought home the sorriest plates we’ve ever eaten today. The cornbread was absolutely the hardest, driest I’ve ever gotten here. The rest of the plate tasted the blandest I’ve received from the restaurant. We decided no more money going here when your paying 40+ for 2 plates and one extra side.
We were visiting from California for a University of Alabama campus tour and we decided to get some ribs from this spot. The service was terrible, we felt like we were disturbing their quiet shift. There was no one in the restaurant when we arrived and left. The space was dirty and the girl who took our order seemed annoyed when she gave us our food in a basket and we told her we wanted it to go. We asked her is she put our banana pudding in our bag and she responded with an attitude as she said “WHAT”. We asked her if everything was in the bag and she responded yes. We were so annoyed we just wanted to get out of there. When we got back to the hotel room we realized that she did not give us our fries or extra bbq sauce. I had to go back and get my paid items. We should have gone to the WB bar and grill next door where it was busy. We probably would have gotten better service
This was not a good BBQ place. I should have known better when I entered this place during UA move in and all the restaurants around this area were packed except this one. BBQ was decent but I’ve had better. The collards tasted like a green salt lick and the cornbread was so dry I had to wash it down with water after every bite like Joey Chestnut when he’s eating hot dogs. The trash cans were overflowing with garbage like it was NYC and and the tables had not been cleaned because everyone had to leave their trash on the tables since the cans were full. Also, I got the Mississippi mud pie and it came in what looked like a NyQuil cup, only smaller. I should have just asked to put a little in my hand for 10 cents like Chris RocK did in I’m Gonna Get U Suka. Prices were a complete rip off. $35 for a sandwich, a turkey plate, an extra side, and 2 ribs. I’m glad we got water to drink or I would’ve been dropping another $5-6. Stay away and go to Dreamland.
I have never been treated the way I was treated at the Bar area of this establishment. I walked in, went to the Bar to place an order, I was ignored, I moved to a different location thinking the young lady just couldn’t see me, (I’m 5’11and hard to miss) she took orders from everyone that walked in that looked more like her. She finally asked if she could take my order. I told her what I wanted with a simple special request. (Change the cup) she told me “This is the bar area, I am a bartender and I don’t have styrofoam cups” I said okay, she walked off and proceeded to talk to the other young laddies whom she already served. She then noticed I didn’t leave and then responded “do you still want the drink, I can refuse to serve you for YELLING “ I was so confused, I never yelled, but at that point I wasn’t about to make a purchase, I was just standing there waiting on a friend that I was meeting. I’m just out done, I visit this place every Friday night with my friends, but this past Friday is clearly my last time stepping foot through those doors. I’ll spend my money with those that appreciate their customers.
