Trokay - Truckee

They have a separate vegetarian menu and most items can be made vegan (just ask). Service and ambience were great, but the food was more expensive than it was good. Still a good option if you’re looking for something on the fancier side.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our 20th anniversary after seeing them on happy cow. They surpassed every expectation we had. The service was amazing and there were not only a lot of vegan options, but gluten free as well. It rates up there with the best meals we’ve ever had!

Wife and I had a nice 10 curs tasting with them a few days ago and we still talk about it. the food quality was spectacular, the service is excellent, great wine card and a comfortable environment. every single cure was imaginative, delicious and wonderfully presented. the chefs are really gifted and earn their support. we cannot say enough positive things about trokay and cannot wait to come back.

We came for our engagement party, and we loved the experience absolutely. it was the first time that my engaged fine kitchen tried and impressed her overall. we got the four-course tasting menu with the wine pairing, and I thought it would be appropriate for the price. my fiancée is vegetarian, so we couldn't try the 10-course hut we loved. I would certainly recommend getting the weeping when they go here: it really raises every dish to the next level. we had a small complaint in the red wine selection with the steak/onigiri pairing, so the server gnädig let us try the chianti, which was much better. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone who wishes a nice culinary experience in the tahoe area. I have eaten in Michelin-star restaurants, and I think this easily measures up to a 1 star Michelin dining experience.

I gush! Absolutely a 1 Michelin Star experience. The taste and texture of everything I ate was exactly what it should be. Perfectly executed, but also creatively made. The record and presentation was stunning and the dress code came as you are, what was beautiful. I didn't drink at that time, but my friends loved the wine and I had a really beautiful virgin **** mary. The staff was friendly and relaxed as they actually enjoyed their job; no forced courtesy or air of stress from everyone. Honestly, just a nice time. I remember hearing that the owners lived in Houston and if that's true, I hope they have another restaurant here too.
