Darrell's Diner - The Villages

Service was fantastic (thanks to Cathy and Jackie! and the hash browns and cookies were amazing. Great breakfast place that opens early!

Love this place, but they have a problem with a waitress. Cathy must be removed. Several people complained about her, but she's still here. Today she was at a lady in a mobilized wheel chair because she was easy from the edge of the table and held in the corridor. Then the next table she had on a man who had his walker next to the table. She said they're blocking the gang that was a violation of fire codes. This was done with a very negative attitude and some of the use entered to help these people and Cathy gave us this scrolling middle look. Shortly afterwards, at the end of a table that blocked the same island, she sat a fifth person who contradicted what she had done before. We are regularly here 2 to 3 times a week, but we are looking for a new place without bad employees to keep them around.

Just recently moved to Florida, and drove from a few of them, as a dog AND breakfast lover my husband and I decided to try it. Service was excellent and fast. There is the feeling of a small business, and because each location is somewhat different and it doesn't feel like a chain at all (except in the way it is consistent - we have tried another location and the recipes are sure to follow what is a good thing. This place feels like an old-school vintage dinner, but is extremely well maintained and clean. The food was excellent and very cheap. Recommend cookies and Gravy (don't forget half, you'll want more. Hot, good food served with a smile, what could you want more?

This is one of our favorite breakfast / restaurants in The Villages. It took about 45 minutes to get 2 breakfasts. Today, that seemed fast. The coffee was good. They must have been coughing; only half of the toast was baked.
