Red Hook Cajun Seafood (jackson)

Food was delicious! Wish they provided scissors instead of the crackers. It was quite warm in there. I believe their ac was struggling with the intense heat. They had fans, but they didn't really help.

Excellent food in a great atmosphere. The boil was perfect! Flavorful, tender, and large portions. We had plenty of leftovers to eat a snack later that evening. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting great seafood.

My husband and I went to have lunch after a visit to the doctor. I was in the mood for fish and I am glad that I decided to try this place. Bar none this was the BEST catfish that we both have had. It was better than another local place that is not a chain that we went to and seems to be a favorite with many in Jackson. The catfish batter was crispy and the fish was moist and flakey inside just as it should be. My husband was also a huge fan of the tartar sauce, he dipped his fries in it as well. The only negative I see is that there should have been 2 hush puppies to come with the meal. But that did not take away from the great meal and service. The manager stopped by after our meal to greet us and I am sad to say that I forgot his name. He was a wonderful young man that had his priorities in place. We both highly recommend this place if you want great seafood. We will be back again.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a concrete ramp leading into the restaurant and it is wide enough for a chair and possibly two people walking as well.

Passing through Jackson, I wanted some fish and decided to try the Red Hook. It was Saturday noon, so the normal lunch menu wasn't available. I had a $14 catfish plate, adding a $1 upcharge to substitute onion rings for french fries. The onion rings were pitiful, made of minced onions rather than sliced ones. The fish had a well-flavored batter, but could have used a little trimming to remove more of the grey matter. The server was attentive. The tableware was a plastic fork.
