Alla Cantina - Tegna

After hiking in the Tessin, this was a great end to a wonderful day. Delicious menu, friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere. Would come back again just for the scrumptious farina bona dessert. Yummmmm.

For almost four days we are looking for a good restuarant in Tegna but unfortunatly , all other restuarsnt were very desapointed. Today we recieved a recommendation from Paulo which is the owner of Barbarate hotel about Alla Cantina restuarsnt and we we are very suprised. I is included 2 minutes from the hotel and we discovred a very amazing restuarsnt . The best best worm servies and generosity and very tasty good . We recommend to order the pumpkin sup and for the main dish the ossubuco . Thanks a lot we will come again. Alon and Adina

We stopped here on our drive to Lake Como. It was one of the best meals we had during our two week stay in Italy and Switzerland. I felt underdressed at this charming place but the staff made us feel welcome. The risotto and pasta dishes are exquisite. If you are in the Locarno area and appreciate fine dining you must come here.

We stayed at Tegna as the weather over the New Year was so good. I had eaten in the Alla Cantina before with my hiking friends and had sat outside in the courtyard. This time we sat inside in front of the fire and enjoyed the cosy and charming atmosphere. The restaurant is not cheap but the quality of every dish was wonderful and we enjoyed every single mouthful of our meal. The salad to start was beautifully presented and the special balsamic sauce was absolutely delicious. The osso bucco had run out, so we had veal cheeks in the same sauce, also with the delicious risotto. My mouth is drooling just thinking about it. The desert that followed was then perfect - a grape sorbet with grappa - smooth, creamy and delicious. The wines were great too!We loved our evening there - bravo to the owners for creating a lovely atmosphere, being good hosts and serving great food. We walked in without a booking and loved the fact that all the other guests were locals. We almost felt local ourselves! We will return for sure!

We discovered this wonderful restaurant about 4-5 years ago and it has become our favorite place in the area. Dante is just the most wonderful host, always accommodating our different needs (children's special plate, extra truffels, extra porcini risotto, substitutions etc.) The food is most authentic and unpretentious yet absolutely delicious. No better osso bucco in the area, no better risotto. Come late in the summer and enjoy fresh pasta with truffles!!! The courtyard/garden is so romantic and beautiful, the service unobtrusive yet attentive, the wine selection wonderful, the food phantastic, deserts outstanding I can't say enough nice things about this place. We are looking forward to coming back this summer, please reserve a table for us!!
