Bidrage med feedbackWe had a reservation at 12.30 today for lunch but when we arrived, the restaurant was fully booked and we were turned away.
I took my wife and children out for lunch on Mother's Day. The experience started off with a warm welcome and a lovely atmosphere. The service began with a smile, but unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse. The service was lackluster and the food was disappointing. The appetizers were underwhelming, my wife's main dish was poorly cooked with low-quality meat, and my meal was average but not very filling. My son's cheeseburger came on a brown bun, which we were told was a healthier option, and the other children's meals were microwaved. We were presented with the bill before we had even been offered dessert, which we had not eaten. The whole unsatisfactory experience cost us £75 for a meal for 2 adults and 2 children, including alcoholic drinks. This price was far too high considering the quality of the food and service. The restaurant was only half full, which speaks to its overall lack of appeal. Nando's, which was less than 5 minutes away, would have been a much better and more affordable choice. This says it all.
During our visit, the restaurant was very quiet and somewhat empty. However, the service was friendly and the food was delicious.
There was only one waitress on a Friday night. She fought to get the service right and we had to sit with wine menus for about 10 minutes before the menus were taken. There were delays with food and the bill and our order was a few times wrong. The barman did not know what Macchiato was and always asked if it was Mocha Latte. The room is beautiful and spacious and I would like to return if I was sure that the service improved! The food was okay, nothing special, but nothing wrong with it.
Being in the heart of Teddington, the restaurant gives you the feel of a country hotel. Good food, friendly server and large space done up in Christmas cheer met expectations.
