Rice Republic - London

This place used to be much better. Waited almost an hour for the main course and considered leaving. It's a shame as the first few times I visited Rice Republic in the past, my experience was far better.

I had great takeaway from here about 7-8 months ago but just now was delivered an extraordinarily disappointing wonton soup and roast pork char siu BBQ. The prawn and ginger dumplings I got were delicious but couldn’t make up for lukewarm, ketchup-flavoured pork I had to saw through with a steak knife and tough, gristly, unseasoned wonton meat. Also, this supposed-bbq pork was on a bed of sad, watery kale. I know we’re in a recession and food costs are higher but I’d honestly rather pay more for a decent quality ingredients and a chef who knows what they’re doing. What the hell happened, Rice Republic, you guys used to be decent? I have to go wash the bad flavours out of my mouth now.

Delicious high quality Asian food with a wonderful menu and great service. I’m pretty fussy about asian food having grown up in Australia. Restaurant has a great atmosphere and doesn’t feel like you are on the busy high street. Also reasonably priced for London.

Food was absolutely delicious, as was the wine. Service was great, staff are really friendly would highly recommend a visit
