The Firs Guesthouse Bed Breakfast

The staff were amazingly welcoming and generous with their local knowledge. The rooms were comfortable and the location was ideal for accessing the beach, with carparking available on site. Rooms: Decent rooms with details well-considered by the hosts. There was a good selection of teas and coffee and the host kindly gave me cake and milk upon arrival. Walkability: Only a short distance from the Cleveland Way, a 5km walk along the clifftops into Staithes, with exceptional views, and near to the local amenities of Runswick Bay. Food drinks: Breakfast was served beautifully with locally sourced products for the Full English, alternative vegetarian options with tea/ coffee/ juice served in plentiful supplies and an array of cereal options in addition, although I was far too full for them.

The rooms were old fashioned felt like a care home. The staff were friendly but didn't supply basics like spare loo rolls or allow payment by credit card (debit card only). Breakfast was OK. Rooms: 2 Service: 2 Location: 4
