Bidrage med feedbackThe Meatballs Family paid Guzman y Gomez a visit for some burritos following an early movie over the weekend. We ordered a Spicy Steak Burrito with Guacamole and Brown Rice ($15), Little Guys Beef Burrito with Beans ($6.00) and a Little Guys Beef Burrito ($5.50). We also ordered a small order of Fries ($3). The burritos were good, but nothing special and the amount of filling is definitely decreasing over time. The burritos rated 3.5. I ordered salted fries, but was served chipotle-seasoned fries. Mini Meatball wouldn't even try them and Lady Meatball and I only ate a couple each. The fries weren't spicy, but I just didn't enjoy them enough to keep eating them. I should probably have requested a new order. As they were, they rated 2.5. My previous comments remain relevant - GYG continue to become more 'Australian' and less 'Mexican'. Thus, I have dropped their overall rating to a 3.5. ***** September 2016 - rated 4.0 Guzman y Gomez still make the best burritos in Brisbane and I still prefer their Southbank location, but they continue to change and become more 'Australian' and less 'Mexican'. Where once you could purchase Beef Guerrero and Steak Chipotle, now they offer Slow Cooked Beef and Grilled Steak. Fries and Nacho Fries have been added to the menu and you can now order enchiladas and sides of meat where you once couldn't. Still the best - just wish they would hold firmer to their identity and let their quality food and authentic flavors speak for themselves. ***** January 2016 - rated 4.5 In my opinion, Guzman y Gomez makes the best burritos in Brisbane and their Southbank location is my favorite. My wife, daughter and I used to eat burritos here once a week - Steak Chipotle (spicy) for my wife, Chicken Guerrero for my daughter and Beef Guerrero for me. Sometimes I purchase a second one to reheat for breakfast or to take for lunch the next day. I could live without the cilantro in the rice, but it has never really gotten in the way. I've also tried the tacos, quesadillas and nachos, but keep coming back to the burritos...delicious!

Ima sucker for gimmicks. Download the GyG app & get a free burrito...? Yep I'm on board this freebie train! Rode it in-store, collected my spicy grilled chicken goodness & choo-choo'd my way to destination burrito baby. Given the passage of time, I'll cough up my own coin & purchase another. Maybe even of a different varietal - they're all so tasty. Oh & those corn chips are next level so maybe nachos next time....welcome to Platform Indecision - passengers: me. Thanks GyG!
Mrs Kan Do and I felt like something simple and fast for dinner after our heavy dumpling laden lunch, and Guzman y Gomez fit the bill. We ordered a mini burrito with slow cooked beef and a burrito bowl with grilled steak, both with guacamole and the burrito with sour cream. Both were done well, as well as other Guzman y Gomez places I have been to in the City and Mt Gravatt, and service was quick and efficient. I would agree with Meatballs And Beef Cheeks that Guzman y Gomez beats the pants off most 'Mexican' restaurants in Brisbane, with the sole exception of El Torito in West End.
I think this is the first of the franchise that started in Brisbane .
