Bidrage med feedbackI ordered a simple dish of angel hair pasta with Parmesan cheese and meat sauce. For appetizers, we had roasted cucumbers and cheese logs, which are essentially just larger mozzarella sticks. When you order the duck, it also comes with salad and buttered bread rolls. The food was excellent, but the portion size of the duck is enormous. I recommend ordering a child-sized portion unless you want to leave feeling completely stuffed—I speak from experience! As for the waiting times, I've found they can vary quite a bit, ranging from 20 minutes to an hour for dinner, at least based on my experiences. Other than that, it’s an amazing restaurant that is definitely worth the wait.
We always enjoy our visits to Provino. The food is excellent, the music is at a nice low volume, and the overall atmosphere is lovely. Recently, as we were leaving, we sat near a window that was a bit drafty, which made it a little chilly for me, but other than that, I have no complaints.
Later, I ordered shrimp and scallops in an Alfredo-like sauce, but again, it was overwhelmed with pasta. It was probably enough for four people—at least half a pound. The shrimp, scallops, and sauce were enjoyable. However, I was disappointed with the house wine, which cost $28 for four small glasses and had a sickly sweetness to it. Another downside was that we were seated next to a noisy area where dirty dishes were piled up. Overall, this experience doesn’t compare to the authentic food we’ve had in Italy; it felt very Americanized.
It's been years since I was in Provinos and it's still an amazing place to eat. We went twice a week! Garlic rolls are so amazing that you want to eat your body weight from them before the food comes. The foods and flavors are amazing, and the portions are large and likely you will take food home.
This place has some nice interior! Little history so to speak. It make for a comfortable atmosphere with good service. The garlic rolls I love! I had the seafood trio which you can't go wrong with. The Chicken Alfredo left a bit to be desired. The veal marsala was nice and tender but the sausage stuffed mushrooms were not at all what I expected them to be. Overall it was a good experience.
