Ok, other reviewers aren’t wrong. It’s pricey and you don’t get mass quantities of food. What we DID get was creative takes on beef and chicken, fabulous oysters, strong drinks, cool desserts, a great vibe and on point service. Our group also raved about the pimiento cheese, and the shrimp and grits. Several of us recommend a speciality drink, Lady of the Underground, Husk’s take on a mule. We drove down to Savannah from Hilton Head where there are plenty of other dining options, because one of our group has foodie daughters who recommended Husk from a Charleston trip. She snagged reservations months ahead. We all agreed it was worth the cost for the experience, which was more than just the food.
We had a good time at the bar it’s so pretty! Love the aesthetics. Service was great attentive without being pushy. Cocktails were yummy but dang those huge ice cubes are a great way to waste space. Food was great too…if not slightly pretentious.Food: 4/5
We went for Sunday brunch. 1st surprise, they charge for biscuits!!! We spent $18 for 6 small biscuits! Who charges for biscuits in the South??? 2nd surprise: the juices (orange or grapefruit juice) were full of ice. More ice than juice! This is supposed to be fresh-squeezed juice, not a cheap soda! They just filled up the glass with inexpensive ice to give you less of the good stuff (the real, squeezed juice). Then the food was good, but not great. And the portions are on the smaller side for the (expensive) price. Service is also a bit slow. And because biscuits have to be ordered, you wait on those just like anything else you order.
My GF and I popped in on July 3rd! We had no reservations. Joshua, the devilishly dashing and courteous general manager greeted us and said he might find us a spot at the bar in 20-30 mins. Well in 20 mins he came through! We had a fantastic time at the bar which is beautiful, airy, grand and roomy. Aiden and Hunter were our bartenders and they were so courteous and attentive. I had numerous heavenly oysters, my GF ordered the noodle dish (good amount of heat and texture and very tasty). We shared the cheese platter and the smoked/seared Cobia. 3 words: Dee lish ous. Our drinks were bomb too (I had a cool twist on an old fashioned, GF had a delicious lavender gin drink). A very very memorable dinner. Thank you Joshua, Aiden,Hunter Husk Savanna for making our July 4th stay so classy, delectable, and epicureanly enjoyable.
