Freighters - Sault Ste. Marie

The first time here. Had a great table with a view of the castles. We ordered spaghetti and a chicken penne pasta dish and both were very good! Our server Todd treated some food allergies problems like a pro and double checked a few times to make sure that there would be no problems! It was so appreciated! It rarely happens.

The waitress was very nice and very helpful. Our dinners were amazing. Great food my daughter said.

My wife and I ordered steaks here and they were delicious! The sous vide sirloin was incredibly tender and seasoned perfectly. There is also a magnificent view of the castles, and it made this a wonderful place to dune. We'll be back soon.

Service was slow even though there was only one other party eating. Menu wasn't labeled saying that certain food items were only available for dinner, when told the server just laughed and said that happens a lot. So why not change the menu ? It was a nice restaurant and prices were a little high and not a lot to choose from.

Confusing right out of the shoot sign outside says Freighters Restaurant . Once inside another sign states Captain 's Pub and Grille . I walked through a door into a dining room no signage and was greeted by a very friendly young lady. The buffet had just ended but she was willing to let me some from the breakfast buffet. I opted for the breakfast menu. It included a picture of Chicken Fried Steak, Eggs, Hashbrowns with white gravy for the steak. I ordered that and a black coffee. She came back from the kitchen to tell me that the Chicken Fried Steak is pictured, but they don 't serve it! What!?!? Well, she 's the messenger, no need getting angry with her. Instead I chose the Breakfast Burrito. Strange. When I think of Burrito, I think South of the border or Tex Mex not Country. This enormous Burrito was swimming in tasteless white gravy. The sausages were simply breakfast links that were cut up and added to scrambled eggs. No spicy seasoning that I was anticipating. The coffee was lukewarm. It 's a good thing I 'm in town for 1 day. Where 's Freighters Restaurant!?!?!?
