Penny's Kitchen - Sault Ste. Marie

We had high expectations based on the reviews we read, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t meet them. The waitress was friendly, and the bathrooms were clean, which we appreciated. However, out of the five of us who ordered breakfast, only one person enjoyed their meal. My daughter’s Belgium waffle was so tough it resembled cardboard, and it didn’t come with whipped cream, topped instead with several moldy strawberries. The bagel sandwich featured a remarkably thick piece of sausage that was quite unappealing, while the croissant sandwich was soggy. The omelette lacked any flavor, and the biscuits and gravy had an unusual pink color. The prices were frustratingly high for some items, while others seemed reasonable. For instance, a side of bacon (just two pieces) costs $5, which is the same price as a glass of juice! We ended up spending over $100, including tip, for breakfast, but it felt like a rip-off for what should have been a $30 meal.

Wow, what a great place. Stopped for lunch with friends and we all agree we could meet here every week. Great food, friendly staff, clean. Everything I could want in a restaurant.

Cute place, very nice staff. It gets a 3 because the gumbo was NOT good. Tasted like it was last week's reheat. My mister had the farmer's omelette and said it was delicious!

The center of the pasty was still cold, and the gravy was lukewarm.

Please address your staffing issues. I was frustrated to drive there this morning only to discover that you were closed.
