Captain's Pub Grill - Sault Ste. Marie

The prices and food were quite reasonable. I ordered the Jalapeño Poppers, Angus Melt, and Gumbo, and everything was delicious and very satisfying. The decor and views give the restaurant a high-end feel. However, I would suggest that the service and wait times need improvement. If I hadn't been in a hurry and planning to enjoy a few drinks, I might have found the waiting times unacceptable. During my first visit, I was unsure where to go, so I followed the stairs up and ended up between the bar and dining area. There was no greeting or host to assist me, which left me feeling a bit lost. There was also no signage to indicate where to wait for service. Despite these inconveniences, I was very pleased with the food, and once everything was underway, I enjoyed the overall experience.

I had the French dip, and it was fantastic! The fries were incredible too.

He waited 15 minutes for a beer, despite there being only about five occupied seats. The food also took a while to arrive, and the Green Chile Chicken Grinder was disappointing— decent flavor, but a small portion for $10.99. The kids became restless during the delays. My wife said her burger was good, but overall, it was nothing to write home about.

Food was excellent BUT the amount of staff was not enough for the customers there. I heard some staff member had a family emergency SO THE MANAGER SHOULD OF FILLED IN. But we didn't ever see them. Bad choice on their part

Very disappointed by the rude service here. We sat at the bar, but didn’t get so much as a hello, smile, or a menu from the bartender. There was only one other table seated in the whole place. Instead, the bartender spent her time complaining to another wait staff about what beer they were out of. Our first interaction with her was her abruptly barking ‘we’re out of X beer y beer’; still no ‘hi’ or ‘how are you.’ When we left she said ‘good’, she was busy enough with the one table. We took our money across the street.
