Foxes Fiesta - Saligao

I have been going to Foxes restaurant in Goa for more than 20 years. It is a fantastic restaurant with generous portion sizes and is conveniently located near the church. To get there, just turn right in the middle of the street towards Saligo. A taxi ride costs around 200 Rupees, which is about £2.

The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. Fortunately, Savio was there to guide us through the menu and we ended up having one of the best meals we've had in a while.

The food at this restaurant was terrible and the service was even worse. The food was over-seasoned and overcooked. We tried multiple items from the menu and were extremely disappointed. What upset us the most was the incompetence of the staff. One member of our group has a pepper allergy and despite mentioning it several times, their food was still served with pepper on two separate occasions. The waiter even went as far as to lie about the pepper being dirt from the pan. Needless to say, we were left with a very unpleasant experience.

We spent a week in Goa, during Monsoon time most of the restaurants where closed and the few we found open were really bad. Foxes Fiesta was an exception and we really enjoyed food, drinks and service there. The fish fingers are freshly made and so are the curry shrimps (their signature dish). The banoffee pie was yummy. A must visit if you are in town.
