Here's The Scoop - Salida

My husband and i decided to have a little roadtrip and we went to Salida. Ive visited this ice cream place before and i had a great experience, a lady gave me samples and they were pretty good, so we decided to come back last saturday. I thought i wouldhave the same experience again. But no i didnt. When we went inside we were never greeted by the old man. I brushed it off itsokay because he was serving someone. When he was done he didnt say anything to me nothing at all but then he greeted the girlsthat just came in, mind you im asian i have brown skin and they were white. He was so happy to talk them and he completelyignored me even though i was there first. He offered to give them samples and all and he pretended i did not exist even thoughhe saw me there looking. So i backed off and told my husband to just leave because i cannot stand another minute to bedisrespected like that. I would give zero star but i guess one star will suffice. People would say dont make it about race. Justbecause you never experience it doesnt mean other people havent.

Delicious vegan gelato and ice cream options here! There were 5 to choose from when we went in addition to the many dairy ice creams. The owner is absolutely delightful and so proud and caring about his store, family and handmade products. I got thevegan Orange Grand Marnier gelato and it was a flavor explosion. Very creamy. Great spot all around with a sweet little thriftstore area in the back!

Hands down the best ice cream in town. The owner is incredibly proud and so sweet with kids. Many good flavors to choose from including gelato made with almond milk. Support local!!!
