My family had a good weekend stay at the Rockville Hotel. Location is in an office park that is actually quite near to the lovely, attraction-filled Rio Lakefront development, which has many tasty chain restaurant offerings and a nice boardwalk. Service was fine. No check-in or checkout hassles, and staff attentively kept the breakfast bar well-stocked with turkey sausage, scrambled eggs, French toast sticks, pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, milk, juice, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Convenient and worth the $10 for a quick all you can eat start to your day. Many people from France were guests last weekend. Cleanliness is the area that needs the most improvement. The pool has some sand and a couple nuts and bolts at the bottom, the room's mini-fridge needed an interior wipe-down, and there are a couple spots on the hallway carpet. However the bathroom was a high point, with granite countertop, ceramic wall tile, and a nice shower and tub. Bed was clean and comfy too. Bring or borrow earplugs, as music from the ground-floor event room may be noticeable until 10:30ish on a Saturday night. (They were hosting a quinceanera last weekend. This is a big three-story square hotel with a large glass-roofed atrium in the middle, and it looks like it's provided a few decades of service, albeit with a renovation not too long ago. Keep in mind this is not a brand new place, and recognize that it's almost 30% cheaper than similar options in the area, so a good choice for people looking to stretch their travel dollars.
Great location. Great price. Outstanding customer service Tanya. Wasted only on different hotels, but never ever again. I like the style and decor. The art work as well as architecture. It sets the mood for a lovely day. Ambience and appearance does matter. Thanks again.
Disappointed with our stay: stayed there before and everything was fine, this time not so much. Service was poor, rooms were dirty. Won’t be coming back. Must be under new management since the last time we were there.
I recently stayed at the rockville hotel because I had an event there. The service I got via my coordinators and the hotel team themselves was horrible to say the least. I was supposed to get my room covered that did not happen. Knowing that I had an event the day I checked in, you would think that they would have a room ready for me no matter what time of day I check in. I had my make up artist waiting on me as I figured the mess out and just to save time more than what I had already lost I paid the fee and went to my room. I got a suite to get ready in and the word disgusting does not begin to cover it. My makeup artist and I were equally horrified. We walked into the suite living room and saw that the single sofa had a vomit like substance covering the entire right portion of it. There were stains on the sofa that the cleaning staff hid by turning the cushion over in hopes of no one finding it. The bathrooms were disgusting. One of the bathrooms in the suite had doors that would not even close properly. The bathtub could not even be used properly because it was clogged so when I took a shower I had to stand in my dirty water until I was done. The toilets were stained. The cabinets in the bedroom area had missing knobs. The floors were dirty. I had guests check into other rooms in the hotel and they had to deal with cockroaches. The conditions of these rooms were atrocious. I would give this hotel ZERO STARS if I could. I definitely do NOT recommend this place to anyone.
