Sicilys - Puducherry

Best place to have Italian foods, quality and ambiance was very much awesome. Highly recommended if you wish to try some delicious Italian and Spanish food then you must visit Sicilys. We have had yummy Italian Lasagne, which was very nice. It is very near to the beach and the place is easily locatable.

Next to the beach with an amazing view, went for breakfast and it was decent. The only let down was the pancakes came with a very diluted maple syrup. Also with only 2-3 tables the service took almost 30 mins so be prepared to wait.

Great sea facing cafe/restaurant right at the end of the promenade. We tried their beef burger, arabiatta pasta, margherita pizza, blueberry cheesecake and caramel custard. All the items were pretty good, especially the beef burger (Paris Delice)

The location is the star! It’s a small pizzeria, cozy, done up casually. Not many choices in starters that were non fried or non cheesy the grilled fish was bassa which was a downer. The fried prawns were outstandingly fresh. Peri peri fries were good too. My cocktail was a bit weak on the alcohol and although I had asked for no ice, it came with ice. The non alcoholic summer cooler was flavourful and fresh. The chicken sausage and onion pizza was so so, the prawn pizza was drowning in cheese. The crust was thin and tasteless, crunchy. Nothing distinctive about the pizza. Go for the views.

Hands down, the best food I’ve had in Pondicherry. Ordered almost everything on the veg menu (spaghetti pasta, nachos, lasagna, fries,cheesecake), except their burger, which I’m sure wouldn’t have disappointed as well. The portions are apt and the staff is courteous. A bit crowded but worth the wait.
