Port Mor Centre - Port Charlotte

Open in the next season, the caffe is operated by friendly employees and offers a good selection of which you can choose, although not cheap. two chicken-closed, two crimped and two slices of carrot cake have set us back £25. the camping site shower block is open around the clock and has washing machines etc. very clean and well kept. view over the bay of the campsite are beautiful and we were awakened by sheep who bleed in the next field, beautiful! it is a windy place, so they bring their headphones when they have to sleep peacefully.

Chequered on this one. Very helpful where vegan options were concerned (though options weren't on the menu, so make sure to ask), and the food was utterly delicious. Unfortunately, also had a scenario where we went for a takeaway, after being informed we would be able to pick up no problems, only to be told they were now too busy. Which left us up a certain creek, sans paddle. Thankfully found somewhere else, but not a great impression made there! Camping facilities pretty darn good though, which made up for a lot.

Great location on Islay and open views...but we didn't get the good weather to see at its best. Facilities very good but no path across the field and quite a walk along the track in bad weather. The community cafe was brilliant and we had a lovely evening meal there too. Bus runs to Portnahaven or Bowmore from outside the site. Only a short walk into Port Charlotte to small Spar and the Port Charlotte Hotel for a drink sadly booked up for meals.

Nice little site for stopping at with reasonable prices. Not too far from the ferry port. Has a bar area and food. Spent 2 nights in our motorhome here, has plenty of room for tents as well. Facilities are nice and clean although the showers are a little bit more public than we are used to. There is a football pitch next to the pitches, good for the kids but if your van is your pride and joy you maybe paying more attention to the ball rather than the game.

We stayed for two nights with our tent while cycling in the area. The facilities were excellent, featuring nice hot showers and a small indoor area. We appreciated the community café that was open daily from 10 AM to 8:30 PM. The food was good, and the staff were very friendly.
