Bidrage med feedbackPopped in for lunch and was told by the lady to find a seat. After 15 minutes of no one coming to take our order we went back to the counter to ask if we can order - an were told you have to order and pay at the counter - contrary to the advice upon entering. We then had to was 35 minutes for our meals - Bagels and a burger. The café was fairly empty but their focus seemed to be on making coffees and not serving paying seated guests. Just about to ready to walk out I though I would check on the status of our meals. One woman couldn't tell me so asked another woman to come and help. I was then greeted with 'Table 19 - what's the issue?'.Our meals came out 2-3 minutes later and were very average. I will definitely not be going back nor would I recommend anyone going!
We chose to dine here for a casual Sunday lunch. Upon walking in we were greeted with a neutral hello and were told to take a seat. After waiting more than 15 minutes we went to the counter to discover take in fact it was not table service as the lady had led us to believe. We placed a simple order and proceeded to wait more than 40 minutes for a bagel and burger. We then asked at the counter how long it may take to receive our meal to which the woman replied "what's the issue?" It had no ambience, meals were very average and hospitality non existent. Apparently it's under new management too.......
I stopped in at Scoot Daddyo's for a late breakfast/early lunch while shopping in Paddington last month. It seems to be an owner-managed cafe, with lots of chatting with friends going on between order-taking. The girl behind the counter was very pleasant and friendly, and very obliging when I wanted to make a couple of changes to my order. Unfortunately, when the food came the bagel tasted stale and the scrambled eggs were way overcooked and tasted very plain and uninspiring. I had asked for dill on my scrambled eggs if they had any, and they had tried their best, giving me dill pickles! This was quite sweet and obviously a nice touch, but unfortunately I really don't like pickles (although I tried to eat some so the cook wouldn't feel bad). I liked the space, the service was good and quantities generous, but the quality just wasn't there. I wouldn't go back unless the food improved a fair bit. Maybe worth a try just for coffee and something sweet?
As a visitor to Brisbane, starting about 10 years ago, there's a few things on my list of must-do's that include a visit to Mick's Nuts (opposite Sol Breads
Having been twice now, I can confirm that Sol has a very nice menu going for it and a number of other things against it.
