The creativity and appeal of the dishes were still there, and the service was good, thanks to the new chef. However, I noticed that the service seemed to struggle with male customers, and the overall atmosphere of the evening felt lacking. They have changed the mac and cheese recipe, and now it’s overly greasy and leaves an unpleasant aftertaste. I used to think the mac and cheese was one of the best, which makes this change even more disappointing. Additionally, the crab cakes were burnt. I'm left wondering what went wrong, and I'm very disappointed with this experience.
It's been 30 or 40 years since our last visit to The Grouse House, and clearly, we weren't impressed back then since we never returned. However, today we were in the mood for prime rib, and I have to say, it was the best we've ever had. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful. We'll definitely be back!
This menu is a game changer! They have introduced a new menu with amazing dishes, thanks to their talented new chef.
