We ordered some Spareribs and Spicy scampi with rice and salad. Unfortunately the side salad was not fresh and baked potato so hard! The price was such dishes was much higher than standard. The waiters were so friendly and helpful.
Definitely not worth the price. Garlic bread was chewy and quite small considering the price. Mushroom sauce was lacking in flavor. The vegetables served with the steak were lackluster. Overall steak was cooked well but rest was underwhelming and near flavorless
Great steakhouse with large variety of grilled meat. Reindeer Tenderloin is a rare delicacy from Nordics which they serve. Decent drink options too. Overall above average prices but you get good ambience options too. Near to Oslo Parliament Royal Palace
Dining at Hereford Steakhouse promised an evening of culinary delight, and in many aspects, it did not disappoint. The food was undeniably delicious, with the steaks standing out as the highlight of the evening. However, a good meal should be complemented with equally commendable service, and unfortunately, that was not the case during our visit. The Good: We started our meal with scallops and French onion soup. The scallops were well-prepared and enjoyable. The comprehensive selection of steaks provided an exciting palette of flavors, and the execution on these steaks was impeccable, deserving of praise. The Not-So-Good: The service we experienced during our visit left a lot to be desired. With just two servers attending to the entire restaurant, it seemed quite clear that they were understaffed. This not only impacted the speed of the service but its quality as well. Our server, although seemingly well-intentioned, seemed inexperienced. The language barrier was evident – he didn 't speak Norwegian and struggled with English. This led to significant misunderstandings. Two of our party had ordered lobster to accompany their steak, yet only one was initially served. The omission of the second lobster seemed like a clear oversight. Moreover, one member of our group is allergic to mushrooms and had explicitly requested their dish to be prepared without them. Sadly, they were served vegetables mixed with mushrooms, which could have had serious consequences. Lastly, a point on customization. In many steakhouses globally, serving vegetables and sides family style is customary, especially given the price point. Our server seemed unfamiliar with this concept, which was disappointing. A minor note on the French onion soup – it could have done with a more generous helping of cheese. To Conclude: For a bill that totaled 5500 NOK for five guests, one would expect both food and service to be top-notch. While the food – especially the steaks – were delightful and justified the cost, the service, unfortunately, marred our overall experience. Should you decide to dine at Hereford Steakhouse, come for the food, but be prepared for potential lapses in service.
Ordered the Kansas City Prime Stripeloin, and it was cooked more or less perfect! The taste of everything was very nice, but there could have been slightly more vegetables and french fries. The restaurant felt pretty crowded, but the staff was friendly and we got seated very quickly, even though we did not have a reservation. It took a bit longer from we were done eating and until we managed to get hold of a waiter to pay though
