They were very attentive since the time I walked in. They also took the time to show me the different wine that came with my 4 course wine pairing. Also, it came with 5 small amuse bouches--a mini taco with reindeer heart, what looked like a small cone with salmon mousse with caviar, chicken skin served on a cracker and another cone with something I forgot. The last amuse bouche was a spoon of white truffle risotto, which was very creamy and delicious. I ordered the four course menu with the four wine pairings. I got the turbot with the beet root. Beautiful presentation. Very light and the turbot was very fresh. Mussel ravioli and shellfish boullion. Presentation was beautiful. Ravioli was fresh and I could barely taste the mussel because it was so juicy and complemented the shellfish boullion so well. Venison with celery royal (which is celery with egg that's baked) and rosemary black salsify sauce. Deer was very gamey but still edible, the celery royal and the rosemary sauce added a graceful amount of salt to the dish. Dark chocolate and pear with mint sponge cake and red currant gel. Very light and refreshing Wonderful wine pairings. Definitely a must. Downsides: really expensive for a small amount of food. One thing that did bug me as it did throughout Norway was that after I had eaten, they didn't bother to brush off my tablecloth like they do in Seattle.
Incredible, each plate is nothing short of perfect.First dinner in my life where I can say that I loved every last bite. We did the five course tasting menu; descriptions in the pictures. Trying to fully write out how good this food tastes would only do it an injustice.
When you walk into the dinning room you are instantly in awe. The light grey walls are striking against the white moulding and clean lines. My husband and I went in to try this Michelin star restaurant and it did not disappoint. We each ordered the tasting menu, I paired mine with wine and he with juice. The pace was a little uneven at first with all the appetizers coming out quickly but the soon slowed down and took their time. My favorite dishes were the langostine and the duck fritter.
We did a tasting menu here and it was amazing. Food, wine, and outstanding service. Chef did cater to some food allergies in our group and every dish was delicious.
Fabulous meal. We did the tasting menu which was well worth the cost. It was actually surprisingly cheap given how expensive Oslo is.
