Eik serves a really delicate Norwegian cuisine, supported by elegant wine combination (confidence their wine package fits perfectly to the meals not cheap, but if they are in a unique gastronomy experience, book their table at eik.
Restauranteik was a solid restaurant I truly enjoyed. Each dish was excellent in taste, presentation, and balance of the ingredients. The poached egg 60 degrees was by far one of the best modern European dishes Ive had. The eggs were heavenly soft and melted like butter. Crispy chicken skin and other ingredients mixed harmoniously and hit every element that our tongues could sense. I was thoroughly impressed by the originality and perfection of this dish.
The restaurant offers a delicious menu with a full vegan selection. The service was impressive, with attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff. The prices are affordable, but the quality of the food is not compromised. The only downside is the loud club music that doesn't quite match the restaurant's atmosphere.
My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant in search of a fancy vegetarian dinner. The chef created a 5-course menu for us on the spot. As New Yorkers, we did not consider the price to be high, especially considering how expensive everything is in Norway. The food was incredible, with each dish being a new and inventive creation using locally sourced ingredients. We were thoroughly impressed and will definitely be returning. While the portions were small, it is to be expected with a tasting menu and we were not left hungry afterwards.
