The Well - Oakland

I visited this restaurant a few times in the past, and it seems like they have added new items to their menu since my last visit. I may return to try those out! I enjoy the vegan power bowl, but I find that the vegan dishes here are similar to what I can prepare at home. However, I did appreciate the refreshing iced tea drinks and the tasty matcha mochi cake.

The tofu seasoning was not to my liking, but overall the dish felt light and healthy. I'm curious to try their vegan desserts!

Stopped by to try the black sesame mochi bun 'cause I 'm very much into Japanese food and I basically love anything with mochi in the name… usually. Unfortunately, they clearly have no clue about Japanese baking. It was terrible… That alone would not have been enough for me to give a bad review though (I 'm biased toward spots with a bunch of vegan options… , but I also got the banana mochi bun, and it was OBVIOUSLY 2 or 3 days old. I could have used it as a weapon. Straight up inedible… Everything went straight in the trash. I was sooooo disappointed. Selling stale pastries, in my book, is unforgivable. And just to top it off, the waiter just *had* to tell me how delicious their beef jerky is, even though it was 100% clear from our convo I was vegan… Done with this place.

A couple of times before a man went here, it looks like they had new articles since I last went so I could try them again! I like the vegan power bowl but the vegan food here is somehow comparable to what I can make myself home. they have cool icy drinks and I also liked the matcha mochi cake!
