While I was there, the vibe inside Itani Ramen was pretty cool. Came home and found a piece of plastic sandwiched between two pieces of the rainbow roll. Sushi was okay.
Went in for a solo lunch. Quick seating on a Sunday afternoon and the food came out pretty quick. Three sushi rolls. Prices were good but it wasn't the most amazing sushi I ever had. Lots of tobiko on everything and they were more hard and less soft so it felt a bit.... Stale? Or at least oddly crunchy instead of bursting softly. The spider was okay the crab wasn't the most flavorful I've had in spider rolls, nor quite as crispy. I wonder if they pre-fry them. Fish was good quality. Caterpillar was nice.
Ordered twice from here. First time was aight, 2nd time was all bad. Fish wasn 't fresh, wasabi didn 't make a paste with the soy sauce but rather made little small clumps of 'wasabi '. The wasabi had minimal flavor also-no nose burning. Sushi rice tasted and appeared old and was more like glue balls. Very highly disappointed and will not go back. Price too high for such poor tasting food. Alley cats would probably pass by this stuff.
I think it's more of a Ramen join versus sushi joint. But it definitely is nice that you can order a bowl of Ramen and have some sushi too. The rolls are small so I'm glad we ordered two rolls in addition to a bowl of Ramen.
I loved this place! I had sashimi tuna and the Kikori whiskey! My dinner date had a beautiful donburi bowl, that I didn't try. We shared the vegetable gyoza, sloppy style. I recommend ordering the regular gyoza as well, both are amazing! It was nice to sit, have a deep conversation and sip my whiskey with my special dinner date.
