Maya Halal Taqueria - Oakland

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants! The flavors are consistently fantastic. You must try the steak burrito, steak nachos, and fish tacos, along with the watermelon agua. I suggest ordering in advance to avoid the lines. There's street parking available, and there’s usually a spot open. They accept both cash and cards. I really appreciate their extended hours on weekends, but just a heads-up—they're closed on Sundays, so plan accordingly!

The tacos are small, and the burritos come in different sizes. Overall, I like this restaurant. The food is generally tasty, but be mindful of the inconsistent portion sizes. We ordered super tacos ($4.99), and they were nearly empty and completely unlike the photos online—they were very tiny. I've also observed that the burritos vary significantly in size at this place.

Absolutely delicious! I ordered one steak taco and one chicken taco, and combined the mild and spicy salsas—what a fantastic combination! The house-made chips are amazing too. The pricing makes these tacos more of a special treat rather than something you’d have for a full meal—$4 per taco as of this writing, and the portion size is fairly small. I will definitely be returning!

I approached Maya Halal Taqueria and initially thought I might have made a mistake choosing this place, as it only has a couple of takeout windows. I'm so glad I decided to go in. I ordered three super tacos—two filled with shredded chicken and one with steak. They might seem small, but they're packed with meat, guacamole, sour cream, and more. I left feeling satisfied and full. I also tried the chips paired with their homemade spicy habanero sauce, which was excellent. The person who took my order was very friendly and helpful, and my food was ready in less than 10 minutes. I will definitely be coming back!
