Taste Of China - Northumberland

Having read some unfavourable reviews I decided to give this takeaway a try. The staff are friendly, the food was really nice, portions were decent. I have no complaints at all. Some of the moaners should think twice about posting bad reviews which can affect good hardworking establishments. If there is a wait it's because they are busy freshly cooking meals.

Where to start... Duck was a confit of shoe leather on a bed of boiled and cooled pineapple (I think) Plum sauce was presented as anemic veg floating in a bile reduction. Spring rolls cleverly veiled a gelatinous soupson of something-or-other around a thread of carrot. Battered twigs masqueraded as deep fried crispy beef. Deepfried sesame toast sandwich with a prawn flavoured simulated chicken slice was an interesting twist to remind us the underlying attempt at Chinese themed cuisine. They cooked us chips as the highlight. I 'd say this was utterly gobsmacking , but I 'd be worried someone would construe that as a pleasurable oral sensation. Instead, think about this like the culinary equivalent of Tai Chi 's Fa Jin. It rendered me speechless, dry heaving, took me 24hrs to recover and left me wishing I 'd never been such a stupid and unwitting victim. Amble, I will be back, but not for the Taste of China I 'm afraid.

We sampled the Chinese takeaway from Taste ofChina whist on a short break in Amble We had the two meats curry ,fried rice,battered lemon chicken along with two chop suey rolls.Along with this we were given complimentary spring rolls and prawn crackers. The beef and chicken were really tender,the prawnsfresh and large.The chop suey rolls were large and well filled. The staff were really pleasant and the doors into the kitchen were open so you could watch the food preparation if you wanted. Value for money, would recommend.

First time we’ve used here and very impressed. 2x difference rice satay chicken, prawn toast, s&s chicken balls, spare ribs, prawn crackers, pre ordered no waiting piping hot, can’t fault anything. Will be back next week

Absolutely disgusting I wouldn’t feed this to my dog .. never going back . Everything was cold. Crispy duck was covered in pineapple that mage the batter soaking wet and soggy. Chicken was like chewing boot leather . Not impressed
