Harlem's Floridita - New York City

We ordered the ropa vieja, arroz imperial, and sweet plantains, and everything was delicious and authentic! The rice was incredibly delicate—honestly, it was the best rice I've ever had! How often do you find yourself raving about the rice at a restaurant? Now, let's discuss the drinks! I had read on their website that happy hour was all day, but it turns out that’s not quite true. Our waiter and bartender, Jose, was fantastic! We ordered strawberry margaritas and classic mojitos. They came in tumblers, so I didn’t expect them to be very strong, but wow, we definitely felt the effects before we even finished the first glass! We were not at all disappointed by the $9 price tag—these drinks were worth every penny. Our night ended with complimentary shots of tequila, making it a great experience overall. We will definitely be back!

Great food and service. The place has a feel of an old time diner with plenty of counter seating.

The Original Floridita Flagship Restaurant has been a staple for many years, and I’m pleased to share that its Cuban sandwiches remain some of the best you can find, whether in Havana, Miami, or New York!
