Dadong - New York City

This was our first visit to DaDong New York, although we had previously dined at DaDong in Beijing. The dishes we loved in Beijing were faithfully replicated in New York. Each of the other dishes we tried in New York, which we also experienced in Beijing, was both beautiful and delicious, meeting the high standards we expected from another DaDong location. That said, the experience in New York was not an exact replica of China; DaDong New York has been thoughtfully adapted for the New York audience. The extensive menu that felt overwhelming in China has been streamlined to focus on dishes that appeal to Western tastes. The staff was very much in the New York spirit—personable and engaged, yet appropriately professional for a restaurant of this caliber. DaDong New York also features an excellent bar with stylish, well-crafted cocktails and top-notch bartenders, all in an environment with a noise level that allows for comfortable conversation with friends. We will definitely be coming back.

This place is beautiful, and the service is outstanding! We really enjoyed the food, especially the picking escape. We can't wait to return!
