Bidrage med feedbackThe service at this restaurant was excellent. I tried the spring rolls with ginger lemon sauce and they were delicious. The wonton soup was also outstanding. I also had breakfast there and enjoyed the good portion sizes. The service was very friendly. I will definitely return next time I pass through.
There're few dining choices in the village. If Kaslo, Nakusp, Crawford Bay, Slocan, Winlaw can offer respectable dining options, why can't New Denver?
We had a last lunch at the restaurant at the Valhalla Inn. Average food at best. Over priced for what you get but better then being hungry. We did realize after ordering that there was a secret Chinese food menu available, but you had to ask for it. Busy place though as there does not appear to be much more open or available in the area. Although take a stroll to their nearby reflection garden! We found that on a stroll after dinner. Now that place made everything all better.
We were passing through New Denver and stopped for a small lunch. My husband ordered the chili and I had the soup of the day. We waited an exceptionally long time for this easy order, only to find that both the soup and the chili were barely warm. My soup was average, and my husband said his chili tasted awful. The garlic toast, however, was good.
This establishment clearly thrives on a captive audience which we were having arrived hungry into new Denver , in hindsight we should have stocked up on food from the supermarket and eaten in our car but sadly we ventured to this inn..... the food was mediocre at best, the ambiance was poor, the service was delivered by a very cheerful lady but unfortunately that could not distract from the truly awful food we were served, avoid.....
