Dot's Diner On The Mountain - Nederland

This restaurant closed a few months ago. Their website also says this. The waitress at the diner we went to instead (Ned's) also confirmed this.

Sadly, this restaurant has apparently closed down--the windows are covered with a sign announcing a different restaurant opening in its place. We asked some locals if Dot's moved to another location in Nederland, however apparently they did not. It was a great place for a no-frills breakfast.

Food was decent. They were out of almost all the main items, so we opted for what was available. Then when the check came almost $90 later we wished we got pizza instead. This was not what we expected.

Look, I have been to a quite a few hole in the wall diners. There is a difference between a hole in wall place that is underrated, quiet and authentic, and a place that is dirty, disorganized, and rude. Unfortunately, this Dots Diner is the lader. We had trouble ordering a cup of coffee to start breakfast. It wasn 't until our food arrived and I asked for the third time did they serve us our coffee. If this was the only issue, it wouldn 't have been a big deal and I would be giving this a better review. But, when my husband found a piece of hair in his food and notified the waitress, she responded with a simple, oh and took his plate away. Leaving us confused if she was bringing out a new plate of food. After about a half hour, we finally asked our waitress who responded with a clipped response, it 's cooking . At this time, we decided to just pay and leave, not trusting the quality of food. The staff was rude, the service was poor, the diner looked dirty inside and the atmosphere was uncomfortable. Not the way we wanted to start our morning adventure into the mountains.

Best restaurant, food. And the Vanilla Latte are the best!! The staff is so nice n friendly. It'll be back.
